Coral Springs Community Chest recently awarded nearly $70,000 in grants to local organizations that have a service or program benefiting Coral Springs residents.

Tavolino Della Nonna in Coral Springs graciously underwrote the luncheon attended by representatives from 31 funded organizations, the Coral Springs Community Chest board and members of the honorary trustees board including Coral Springs Mayor Roy Gold and Commissioner Tom Powers.

“We are so appreciative to Tavolino’s for once again hosting our luncheon,” said Maria Pierson, Vice Chair of Funding for the Coral Springs Board of Trustees. “We also thank the organizations we honored at the luncheon for their commitment to the residents of Coral Springs. They continue to make such a positive impact on our community.”

Coral Springs Community Chest funds non-profit organizations that have services and programs benefiting Coral Springs residents. This year’s funded organizations were: Aging and Disability Resource Center, Alzheimer’s Family Center, Achievement and Rehabilitation Centers, Broward Health, Broward Housing Solutions, Broward Partnership for the Homeless, Center for Hearing and Communication, Challenger Baseball, Children’s Harbor, Covenant House, Cross Road Food Bank, Family Central, First Call For Help 2-1-1 Broward, Florida Initiative for Suicide Prevention, Friends of Music, Gateway Community Outreach, Hospice By The Sea, Impact Broward, Light of the World Clinic, Lighthouse of Broward County, Make-A-Wish of Southern Florida, Martin Luther King Scholarship Fund, Mental Health Association, Sawgrass Nature Center, Jeffrey R. Smith Memorial Scholarship Fund, SOS Children’s Village, Starlight Children’s Foundation, Tomorrow’s Rainbow and Women in Distress.
