The Chi Psi Omega chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority working with Broward Health put on the 2K13 Community Health Fair at the Northwest Regional Library on October 5. Those who came to the event could receive information on health related matters. They could learn about Obamacare and benefits that are now available to them. People could receive blood pressure checks and diabetes checks. The could also learn more about preventative health. Pictured above are members of the Chi Psi Omega chapter.
Sandy Lozano, executive director of Light of the World, a health organization brought medical students from Nova Southeastern University. They offered diabetes checks to people who visited the event. Lozano was pleased to see people coming to the event to receive diabetes checks.
Lisa Smith, chair of the event was pleased that so many people came to the event. October is cancer awareness month. Many people are wearing pink to show support for those suffering from cancer. Pictured below are medical students from Nova Southeastern University.
