The Coral Springs Charter softball team won the Florida State Softball Championship for Class 5A. This was the second consecutive year the team has won a state title, a rare accomplishment.

Skylar Fairchild, who plays shortstop said about winning, “It was the best feeling in the world. We had a great season. As a team we all backed each other up and had each other’s back. We had a good lineup,” said Fairchild.

The Panthers defeated Bradenton Bayshore High School 9-2 at Historic Dodgertown in Vero Beach to win the state title.

Coach Mark Montimurro was happy to win the state championship. “It is the ultimate feeling when can raise the trophy at the end and say that you won the last game. It is a feeling of satisfaction to reach the pinnacle and know that the hard work paid off. I like to see the girls celebrate and experience it,” he said.

Top players for the Panthers included Ally Muraskin, pitcher, Amanda Flynn, Gianna Boccagno and Skylar Fairchild.
