Rick Redshaw is the new principal of Eagle Ridge Elementary School in Coral Springs. He moved to his new position from Park Trails Elementary School in Parkland where he was the principal for six years.

Redshaw has been in education for 34 years and is looking forward to his new positon. He is working to get to know his staff and had held meetings with the different grade levels.

“I look at my school as a classroom. I look at the entire school and I want to set up relationships with teachers, students and the community. I want to set up conferences with various people. Every day is different. I love being in education. I would like to build a positive environment at Eagle Ridge. I want my students to be good citizens. I would like to build a positive community. I want students to have a positive school experience,” said Redshaw.

Redshaw began at Silver Lakes Middle School as a special needs teacher. He then went to Coconut Creek Elementary School where he was a special needs teacher. Then he moved to Coral Park Elementary School to be an ESE specialist. He served as an assistant principal at Coral Springs Middle School and then as an assistant principal at Westglades Middle School. Prior to becoming principal at Park Trails Elementary School he revamped the master schedule at Crystal Lake Middle School.

“I love being in education and I would not change my career for the world,” said Redshaw. “I enjoy reading, riding my bicycle and spending time with my children.”
