Plans are being made to create a 2.5 mile road link between the Sawgrass Expressway and I-95 in Deerfield Beach. The Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization was pleased with the plans that were presented. The plans call for a depressed roadway that will be like a tunnel without a roof. It will have local access roads. There will be few or no overpasses near residential areas. This would improve the community’s access to local businesses. There would be noise walls to protect residents of nearby homes. Carpooling and public transportation would be encouraged. This roadway has been a goal for years for residents of Nortwest Broward as a way to reduce the many traffic jams on Southwest Tenth Street that tie up traffic in the area.
