Football is a very popular sport in Coral Springs. During the late summer and throughout the fall months, about 140 kids practice football every night on the fields at Mullins Park. Games are played in the stadium at Mullins Park. The Coral Springs Chargers program is divided into 13 classes based on age and weight. It is a competitive football program. The goal is to teach boys the basics of football and to teach them the value of working together as a team to achieve a goal and to respect teammates and opponents. A strong effort is made to promote safety and coaches learn how to watch for concussions among the players.

“This is a popular community sport,” said Andy Libert, who is head of the Chargers program.
