Two Chi Psi Omega Chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Committees recently partnered with the city of Coral Springs Parks and Recreation Department to rid its adopted street, located at the intersection of Rock Island and Sample Roads, of its litter. The chapter’s Connection and Target IV: Environmental Ownership Committees organized in groups, dressed appropriately in street cleaning gear consisting of orange blazers with green t-shirts, gloves and using tongs and trash bags, efficiently cleaned both sides of the two-mile street. Working effectively together, the committees collected and weighed 46 pounds of trash for proper disposal. Target IV: Environmental Ownership is one of Dr. Dorothy Buckhanan Wilson, International President of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated programs of service for 2014-2018, under the theme “Launching New Dimensions of Service”.  The service provided is two-fold; it is credited by AKA and it “Keeps Coral Springs Beautiful”.
