Several Girl Scout troops from Everglades Service Unit recently participated in a Help for Haiti collection drive to benefit orphan children in Haiti.  The troops organized 3 different collection sites in one weeks time, and secured contributions from local businesses including a generous donation from the Wyndham Boca Raton hotel.  In addition to collecting a wide variety of necessity items, girls assembled 150 goody bags as a special treat for the orphanage children.

On October 28th several of the participating Girl Scouts met with employees from the company Central Reach, who talked to the girls about their relief efforts in Haiti and shared pictures and videos from a recent flight delivering supplies.  The company works together with The Global Orphan Project, assisting them in their tireless relief efforts following Hurricane Matthew.  The company’s co-founder, a pilot, flies and delivers all supplies directly to orphanages in the heart of Haiti, who were affected by the storm.
