The Grid Iron Grill-Off took place in Pompano Beach. The event raised money for a number of charities offered a good time for everyone who attended. About 25 upscale restaurants participated. They brought their best chefs, in some instances celebrity chefs and offered sample of their best entrees.
The event brought two very popular activities, food and football together. Those who came could meet with former top Miami Dolphins players, some of whom were part of the undefeated 1972 Super Bowl team and enjoy high quality food and wine.
John Offerdahl, a former Dolphin has led the event and developed it into the success it is today. “The purpose to celebrate the collision of food and football. We are creating a successful brand,” he said.
David Hackett, a chef of the Biltmore Hotel was pleased to be a part of the event. “I love being a part of this event,” he said.
Keith Sims, a former Dolphin enjoyed being a part of the event. “I love it. We are helping some good charities,” he said.
After the food and drink portion, former Dolphin players and guests participated in a cornhole competition. It was a fun event.
