Chi Psi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated members joined more than forty, from 8:00AM until 12:00Noon on Thanksgiving Day, that included church members and Branches volunteers to provide a Thanksgiving feast to our homeless community at Harris Chapel United Methodist Church, Oakland Park, FL.
Approximately 500 came and received the Thanksgiving meal with all of its trimmings; sliced turkey, green beans, mash potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce and cake. Target III: Family Strengthening, one of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated’s international program targets, specifically designed for enhancing the quality of life for families is the means through which volunteerism/support for these events is given and credit is received. The kind, big hearted, generous outpouring, sharing without hesitation, unselfish giving, consideration for welfare and interest of others are testaments of services rendered.
Chapter members continue to address Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Life most persistent and urgent question is, “What are you doing for others?”
