Sheela VanHoose has resigned from the Broward Health Board. She was disappointed by the actions of her fellow board members and she did not want to sign her name to a report to the federal government. VanHoose was the only board member to vote against the firing of Broward Health CEO Pauline Grant. Many doctors and other staff personnel were against this firing. In a letter VanHoose wrote to Governor Rick Scott she said, “Our board meetings have been tainted by self-serving and political agendas coated with infighting and grandstanding.”
VanHoose asked Gov. Scott to create a task force to identify problems and develop legislative solutions that would provide stability to Broward Health.
