Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) will observe Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day on Thursday, February 2, 2017. This year’s theme is “Dependability,” an important quality and valuable trait of successful teams and workplaces.
The annual Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day event is designed to assist students in forming ideas about their future career paths. Businesses and organizations are encouraged to show students the connection between their academic achievements and success in the workforce. In addition, all BCPS departments, schools, centers and administrative offices will provide employees the opportunity to bring their daughters and sons to work.
The annual event creates opportunities for parents and guardians to showcase their places of employment, explain their job responsibilities, introduce co-workers and discuss various career choices.
BCPS is celebrating Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day on Thursday, February 2, 2017, instead of the national date in April, due to date conflicts with the state-mandated Florida Standards Assessment (FSA) testing period. BCPS joins other local school districts in observing Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day on Thursday, February 2, 2017, making it possible for all eligible students to participate.
