The Coral Springs High School competitive cheerleading team is gearing up for state and national competitions. The Colts’ team is the defending state championship for small non-tumbling programs, it won two consecutive titles.  The team was runner-up to Coral Springs Charter at a regional competition held at Dillard High School. The Colts’ will travel to Gainesville on January 28 and 29 to participate in the state championship and then to Orlando in February to participate the national competition.

“We are a younger team and we had some injuries and losses early in the season,” said Lauren Ziegler, the coach. “We have improved and could win a state championship. It takes a lot of practice and dedication to do well in cheerleading. The girls on this team have top grades and are involved in leadership activities in the school.”
