The Drepung Gomang monks are visiting the Coral Springs Museum of Art. The monks spend much of their lives in the Drepung Gomang monastery in India. A group of them are traveling throughout the world and visiting Coral Springs to share their art and culture through the Sacred Art Tour. This tour promotes Tibetan culture and supports their monastery. The monks have produced a sand mandala and are offering chants. They are also cooking and sharing meals with people who want to enjoy an evening with the monks. They will offer a blessing of the pets and produce an elaborate sculptures of plants and animals using butter from yak milk. The monks will show people how to make these sculptures using play-doh. One can also observe the monks prepare meals and sample momos (dumplings) a tasty treat.
