Members of the Ocean Guardians enjoyed attending the Nautical Flea Market in Pompano Beach. The program is recognized by NOAA and offers young people an opportunity to participate in protecting the ocean environment. Students were selling bracelets made from items recycled from the ocean and beach.
“We have completed beach cleanups and were are dedicated to caring for the marine environment,” said Mitch Comiskey, a teacher who advises the Ocean Guardians. “We are also recycling fishing lines we find in the ocean and on the beach. We are about preserving the environment.”
Members of the Ocean Guardians enjoyed being a part of the Nautical Flea Market. They had an opportunity to meet with members of the public and educate people on their efforts are preserving the ocean.
