The City of Tamarac will not be getting a new high school program. The Broward County School Board rejected a proposal that would have converted Millennium School into a duel enrollment academy with grades 6 – 12. Some board members said they did not know much about the new school concept. Also there was concern that the new high school program would take away students from J.P. Taravella and Piper high schools. The plans included a program that would allow students to graduate with an Associate’s degree. The school would have have high school sports and bands. Broward schools superintendent Robert Runcie said school district staff would continue to study the proposal and bring it back in about a year.
