The City of Coral Springs and project partners will host a preconstruction open house for the upcoming Sample Road Water and Sewer Lines Replacement Project from 6 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2017, at Coral Springs City Hall, West Wing Conference Room, 9551 W. Sample Road, Coral Springs.

During the informal open house, attendees will have the opportunity to meet the project team, review the construction schedule, the traffic control plan, and ask questions regarding this project.

The Sample Road Water and Sewer Lines Project consists of replacing water and sewer pipes more than 50 years old on Sample Road between University Drive and Coral Hills Drive. The project is part of the city’s continuous investment in the downtown area with infrastructure improvements that entail installing large-capacity water and sewer mains to prepare for a growing and revitalized downtown. With this project, the City Commission is taking proactive steps to replace the city’s aging infrastructure, both preventing costly water and sewer line breaks, and ensuring reliable service to existing customers, as well as future redevelopment.

Construction is anticipated to begin on February 7, 2017. From February 7 through April 4, the underground water and sewer lines will be replaced, with one lane open in each direction on Sample Road between Coral Hills Drive and University Drive. Afterward, there will be periodic utility work in the intersections with nighttime single lane closures. Road paving will occur during the summer months. The project completion is expected in Fall 2017. The contract cost is $3 million.
