Members of the History of Chivalry got together at the Florida Renaissance Festival at Quiet Waters Park to participate in real combat competitions. Members of the organization wear armor similar to that worn by medieval era knights and conduct combat events where participants fight to the yield. The combatants are well protected by the armor and use dulled weapons but the competitions are very strenuous.
Members of History of Chivalry train together and they are good friends. “The training is demanding and the fights are intense but we love it,” said Chris Bagnall, president of the organization. “We are dressed in heavy armor and we have to fight. We will be fighting for 14 days,” he said.
