The Coral Springs Police Department attended a recent Slice of the Springs meeting. The Department reported a decrease of residential burglaries from 252 to 155 over the past year from the previous year. Vehicle burglaries went from 445 to 444. And auto thefts went from 112 to 165.

The Coral Springs Police Department continues to promote Make a Call, Make a Difference. Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious persons, vehicles or incidents in the neighborhood. Burglars often knock first to see if anyone is home, so report an unfamiliar person who knocks on the door. Always lock your residence and vehicle doors. Over 60 percent of vehicle burglaries are due to unlocked doors. Turn on the alarm system and don’t leave valuables or your key fob inside your vehicle. If you leave town, request a vacation watch for your residence.
