Broward County Mayor Barbara Sharief will join FPL volunteers on Saturday, March 11th for the 2017 “Power to Care” Day. At the Mayor’s request volunteers will donate their time at Children’s Harbor located at 19410 SW 58th Place in Pembroke Pines from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Mayor’s volunteer team and FPL employees will place new mulch around the campus and paint the residential children’s home.

“Once again we come together to create a more welcoming and comfortable environment for those who work or are seeking assistance at Children’s Harbor. The work that we do in one day is enjoyed by those at the center throughout the year. The “Power to Care” Day highlights what can be accomplished when a private company and government come together to volunteer their time and effort for a noble and worthy cause” said Mayor Sharief.

Children’s Harbor keeps together foster brothers and sisters, as well as pregnant or parenting foster teens and their babies in a safe and loving home. Their mission to make sure children stay united as a family, keeping siblings together as they work to strengthen families and guide youth toward independence.
