Jeff Heinrich was recognized as Coral Springs Police Officer of the Year at a recent Coral Springs Commission meeting. Heinrich is the School Resource Officer at Coral Springs High School and played a major role in stopping what could have been a mass shooting incident at Coral Springs High School. He recognized a former student who had returned to the school. He received information from some students who were concerned about the situation. Heinrich in charge of the Police Explorer program.

“I try to bridge the gap between the police and the student. I want the students to know that I am a human being. But I also have to enforce the rules,” said Heinrich. He graduated from Coral Springs High School in 1989 and developed an interest in law enforcement. He has worked in various areas of the Department over the years.
