Various Chambers of Commerce came together at the Renaissance Hotel in Plantation to celebrate the top Small Business Person’s of the Year.

Broward County Mayor Barbara Sharief gave a speech and complemented the small business people who were present. “Small businesses are the backbone of our economy. It is small business people who create jobs for people,” she said.

Crystal Stiles, director of the Office of Economic Development for FP & L was the speaker. She described the challenges that small business people face in their careers and encouraged the people who were present to continue working hard to develop their businesses and create more jobs for people.

Michael Weiss, an attorney with the Blaut Weiss law firm was the Small Business Person of the Year for Coral Springs.

Roger Simmons, an attorney was the Tamarac Chamber of Commerce Small Business Person of the Year.
