Chi Psi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, partnered with two Walgreen Stores in celebration of “Red Nose”, Walgreen’s theme to eliminate childhood poverty, Thursday, May 25th, the day set aside for the occasion.
Similarly, to end hunger for all children, 2014-2018, International President of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Dr. Dorothy Buckhanan Wilson, placed in action, elimination procedures for Childhood Hunger, a component of Target III: Family Strengthening. Chi Psi Omega Chapter follows directives of the international in implementing Target III. The chapter’s goal is interconnected and intertwined with the goal of Walgreens; ending poverty and hunger among children through donations..
Chapter members supported and commemorated the occasion by purchasing over 100 Red Noses; wearing them to their places of employment and enjoyment. The chapter is credited with a partnership whereby proceeds generated will aid in ending poverty/ hunger among children.
Chapter members participating at the Walgreens Oakland Park Store were Venetta McCullough, President; Josetta B. Patterson, Chairman Target III: Family Strengthening; Ernestine H. Bobb, Michelle Green, Carla Navarro and Barbara J. Thomas. Participating at the Lauderdale Lakes Store were Veronica E. Phillips, Vice-Mayor; Paula Edwards, Yulanda Ellis, Revertha W. Grace and Tscharner Strapp.
