Broward County property taxes are set to increase by about 9 percent for the upcoming year. Because of improved conditions in the economy, more construction and an overall improvement in the economy, property taxes are going up.

“We look at what is happening in the real estate market and home sales,” said Marty Kiar, property appraiser. “Property values in Broward County have increased over the past year by close to nine percent.”

Property values have increase in Parkland. The city is one of the few in Broward County that has vacant land and has been able to annex more land for development. Property owners will receive their notices on property taxes in August.
