Thia Thomas spent the last few days learning all about robotics at Discovery Elementary School. She is a science and drama teacher at Coral Springs Middle School. She was among a group of Broward County Public School teachers who learned all about VEX robots. A grant of about $277,000 provided by NASA is making it possible for public school students to have access to robotics education. Many of the teachers are planning to take what they have learned and start robotics clubs at their schools.

“I want to develop a STEM Club at Coral Springs Middle School. We will use robotics in the club,” she said.
