Election day is almost here. Millions of people are excited about Trump versus Clinton. But there are some local elections that are also important. Incumbent Coral Springs Commissioner Larry Vignola is running against Karen Jones. Former Parkland Mayor Michael Udine is running against Pastor Randall Cutter for a seat on the County Commission. Voters will also have a chance to vote on whether or not there should be an additional penny sales tax raising sales tax from six cents to seven cents. This money would be divided between Broward County and the cities. At the county level, it would pay for improvements to transportation and roads. At the Coral Springs level, the money would go for a new stadium at J.P. Taravella High School and an auditorium at Coral Glades High School. Voters will also vote on whether or not medical marijuana should be allowed. Michael Udine has been impressed by the turn out at the early voting site in Coral Springs at the Northwest Regional Library. Larry Vignola is also pleased with the turnout. He believes his efforts on the commission have improved the quality of life in Coral Springs. He wants to continue developing the city’s parks system.
