The City of Coral Springs is proud to announce that the Department of Budget and Strategy received the Government Finance Officers Association’s (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Presentation Award.

Recipients of this award have pioneered efforts to improve the quality of budgeting and provide an excellent example for other government agencies throughout the country. Our Budget and Strategy Division excelled in nationally recognized guidelines including: financial strategies, operational plans, documented policies and effective communications.

With 1,117 recipients of the Budget Presentation Award this year – the City of Coral Springs is one of only 14 municipalities to receive such distinction in the State of Florida. Of the award, Budget and Strategy Director Catherine Givens said, “This award exemplifies the outstanding strategies used by our personnel to properly plan and implement an effective budget for the City of the Coral Springs. It reinforces our commitment to meeting the highest principals of governmental budgeting, while maintaining a strong fiscal condition.”

This is the 27th time the City of Coral Springs has received this special recognition. The GFOA is a nonprofit professional organization, which serves nearly 19,000 government finance professionals throughout the nation.

The members of the Department of Budget and Strategy will be recognized at the Coral Springs Commission Meeting on Wednesday, August 1, 2018.
