Two events coordinated by Coral Springs Public Safety will take place this April that both strive to create awareness of the public safety professionals and resources that comprise the Coral Springs Regional Institute of Public Safety (CSRIPS), Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department, and Coral Springs Police.

Recognizing the unique needs of the community, a Touch-A-Truck event will be held on Saturday, April 20, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mullins Hall (10150 NW 29th Street.) Persons who have special needs or who experience sensory issues can meet firefighters, police officers, and utility workers while familiarizing themselves with the various vehicles and equipment in our fleet. In addition, parents and caregivers of persons with cognitive impairment can register for the city’s special needs database at the event. The database allows first-responders to be aware of an individual’s unique needs during an emergency response.

Additionally, those looking to take a first step toward a fulfilling career in public safety are encouraged to attend the Coral Springs Regional Institute of Public Safety Job Fair on Tuesday, April 23 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Coral Springs Gymnasium (2501 Coral Springs Drive). Attendees will have the chance to connect with local public safety agencies, including our very own Coral Springs Police and Fire Department, who will be answering questions about public safety career opportunities in Coral Springs. The event is free for job seekers to attend, and no prior registration is required.
