A Broward Grand Jury determined Thursday evening that three Coconut Creek Police officers should not face criminal charges for the February 2015 death of Calvon Reid.

Calvon Reid died Feb. 24, 2015, two days after being Taser-ed by the officers in the parking lot of a Coconut Creek retirement community. Calvon Reid was under the influence of a combination of the street-drug flakka, cocaine, marijuana and alcohol. These drugs, coupled with a preexisting condition of an enlarged heart,  contributed to his death upon officers deploying the electroshock  weapons in an attempt to control his aggressive behavior toward the officers.

The Grand Jury will issue a full report of their findings at a future date.
